In the documentary film Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple (Nelson 2006), the director helps to tell the story of the unforgettable movement that happened in Guyana Jonestown. Jim Jones an infamous preacher leads nine hundred and nine people to committing a mass suicide. The film is a documentary, therefore portraying the story through nonfiction based information, to be able to keep history alive through knowledge and understanding of the past.
