ECON 3340 Week 3 Assignment | Tulane University

ECON 3340 Week 3 Assignment | Tulane University

You will submit four journal entries over the course of the semester. Some journals are free writing exercises intended for you to report on your experience of, reactions to, and reflections on your internship. Some journals will include a prompt or worksheet that you are to reflect upon. Journals aim to provide you with a free form, self-guided opportunity to reflect, while also sharpening your analytical sense of the complex dimensions involved in community engagement. For free write journals, topics you may write about are open, as long as they relate to aspects of your internship and/or the seminar—ranging from personal accounts as an intern, observations on the organization you work with, reflections on community engagement or service learning, discussions of social issues, activism, or reactions to events brought to your attention in the media, etc.

For this week's journal entry, please respond to these prompts:

What are your goals and expectations for your internship this semester? Why did you decide to collaborate with this Community Partner? What do you hope to learn? What/How do you hope to contribute to your Community Partner's mission?

Which CEA workshop did you/will you attend and why did you select this workshop?

Conclude your journal entry with two questions related to readings from Week 2 (or Week 4) that could be discussed by the class next week.

You are invited to complete the Identity Puzzle worksheet prior to (or after) your CEA Workshop. This worksheet is for your personal reflection. You are welcome to incorporate the Identity Puzzle worksheet into your Journal Entry.
