Week 8: Reflective Learning & Teaching

Hi, class!  First, I would like to thank you for all your hard work and postings in the threads.  I know that I have a tendency to be a bit of a tougher grader than you may be accustomed too, and that I can often be "nitpicky" in my comments, BUT, it is all done with the mindset that I feel it is my job as an educator to not only teach you math concepts, but also demonstrate the importance of giving attention to small, minute details, which is so important in mathematics, as well as how to research, quote and cite properly, and just be an overall decent, if not spectacular, writer, thinker and overall educated individual!

Secondly, even though this is not a graded thread, I ask of you to make one post this week that addesses the following topic:

I am a huge believer in reflective teaching, and always ask myself, "What can I do better next time?"   There is just so much to learn in this course, both in terms of the mathematics, as well as navigating the platform, and as a result of that, it forces me to post a ton of information via the announcement section. Not everybody is a big fan of that; although, it is an online course, and really the most effective way for me to get info out to you all.  That being said, what are some things that might have assisted you more in this course that I might not have provided?  I am sure there are things I, or the course developers, could do a better job at.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.  Was there something missing that you wished was included as part of the course?  I'd also love to hear how you, as a student, reflect back on your actions in this course.  What did you feel you did well?  What did you feel that you could have done better, or will improve upon and take with you to your next course?
