Question # 1 If an officer lives/works in a state where these things are legal, do departments frown on the officer(s) participating in these activities?

Question #2 The question I have is about corruption for a profit, if it is corrupt for an officer to accept gifts in exchange for them to look in the other direction for crime is it still corrupt for an officer to accept a gift from a citizen that is just thanking the officer for doing a good job? This question has been on my mind for quite some time. And if it is not corrupt would that make it an ethics violation for him or her to take that gift? Where I work at now it is against policy to take a gift from anyone for any reason at all so that is why I ask.
Question #3 What would be your feelings toward a police officer if you were standing in a McDonalds and saw him/her come in, grab a tray of food, and sit down and eat it with no exchange of money or conversation? I want honest answers even from those that have received tickets for traffic infractions....
