PLCs are used in industry extensively for process control-type applications. The following example shows a train-loading process at a much smaller scale. This was a senior project for a group of DeVry University students who used a train model and a D50 Automation Direct PLC to control the loading process. Students designed and assembled all mechanical and electrical systems and developed the software for the process.
