The process of exploring and evaluating the impacts of developing technologies is seldom carried out by an isolated individual and the consequences of the decision often affect many others. Diversity in human beliefs and attitudes and complexity of human to human and human to nature relationships exist. Therefore, social conflicts associated with developing technologies are bound to occur. Each student will choose a particular technology and research the topic thoroughly. The student will write a paper which explores, evaluates and analyses: 
•	The historical development of the technology and specific technical aspects of the technology,
•	The ethical, economic, political, legal and social issues raised by the technology,
•	And the future directions or implications of the technology. 
In order to accomplish this task, we will: 
•	Select a topic which is an emerging technology with social, political, environmental and ethical impacts. (Suggestions will be provided if necessary.)
•	Prepare a written report according to the following requirements.

2. Paper
a. Introduction/ The historical development of the technology and specific technical aspects of the technology
b. Body/ The ethical, economic, political, legal and social issues raised by the technology

The written report is to be typed (double spaced), 5-7 pages in the body of the paper, with at least 4 references. One of the references must be a book or peer reviewed journal.

Your writing assignment this week is to write a 5-7 page paper analyzing two ethical dilemmas facing a profession. You can choose a profession you are currently in or a profession in which you wish to practice.
The paper should contain the following:
•	Describe the ethical dilemmas
•	Provide an example regarding how the dilemma exists in a real life situation
•	Analyze the efforts being made by those in the profession to resolve the dilemmas (rules, standards, etc.)
•	Describe the possible consequences if one behaves unethically in the situation
