Assignment Scenario:

You have recently joined an online and IT training Solution Company, which is outstanding in building high-quality online certification and training courses designed specifically for organizations and professionals worldwide.

Initially, you have been hired as a Junior IT Trainer as you have a college qualification in IT and wanted to pursue a career in training and teaching; however, the company is planning to grow the customer base and requested every employee to engage in the marketing and commercial function of the organisation and contribute to new business development.

Based on the above scenario write a report that should fulfil the following requirements:

LO1 Demonstrate a range of interpersonal and transferable communication skills to a target audience.

Your first responsibility will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and communication skills as you have been asked to contact a group of potential clients and organise an event to show a demo of your online solutions to your clients. You have been given a full month for this task and you should demonstrate your effective time management skills by reporting your progress on a weekly basis via email.

The first weekly report must include a plan for the event with the design of a professional schedule with contingencies and justified time allocation.

The experience of designing, planning and delivering your first training event should give you the opportunity to link, meet and work with a range of different people where you can apply and test how effective are your interpersonal skills. Therefore, this is a great chance for you to include in your weekly report and evaluation of the effectiveness and application of your interpersonal skill during this experience.

LO2 Apply critical reasoning and thinking to a range of problem-solving scenarios.

As a learning lesson for you and for the organisation, it is expected that you include some of the key challenges or problems you faced during the design and delivery of the event and demonstrate how you overcame each

During the event, you are also going to present in front of your potential clients a demo of one of the new online courses. This is an opportunity for you to work as part of a team on the content creation to achieve the defined gaol and discuss team dynamics and its importance in the success or failure of group work. A professional presentation should include a deep analysis of the topic in terms of the role group play in a team and also the effectiveness in terms of achieving shared goals. It is expected that you provide a critical evaluation of your own role and contribution to a group scenario.

LO4 Examine the need for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and its role within the workplace and for higher level learning.

Having done a full preparation and delivery of this event, you have probably realised or became aware of your strengths and your weaknesses for this new position as well as the opportunities you have to improve your performance within the workplace. It is now time for you to discuss how important is CPD for your success and what is its real contribution to your own learning and produce your own professional CPD which outlines responsibilities, performance objectives and required skills, knowledge and learning for own future goals. It is always recommended to discover what our personal drive is and/or what truly motivates us; for this reason, it is very important to have a good understanding of the motivational theories. Therefore, you should compare and contrast different motivational theories and the impact they can have on performance within the workplace.
