Reflect on your goals and your next move within the criminal justice system and identify at least one (1) agency and position to which you are thinking of applying or a promotion within your current agency that you hope to receive. Discuss your current skills and competencies and outline your strengths and weaknesses relevant to that position and agency. Then outline the ways in which you can be better prepared to be competitive when applying for that position.
Week 2
This week you researched the different types of reports that you might be asked to write in your future career and learned more about the basics of communication within an agency. In this reflection, examine the types of report that you researched this week and complete the following:
Identify the career you researched and describe one (1) type of report that you may be required to write while on the job.
Outline the essential skills of report writing that you think are the most important.
Discuss the strategies or resources that might be helpful to in order to improve on these skills.Week 3As you reflect back on the material this week, examine the skills needed to investigate crimes and how you can leverage those skills in your future job. Discuss how your coursework in CRJ has prepared you for this aspect of your job in the CRJ field. Determine your strengths and weaknesses and discuss how you plan to leverage your strengths and address any weaknesses.Week 4Respond to the following prompt by clicking "Create Journal Entry" above:This week, let’s turn for a moment to consider the importance of ethics in your future career in the Criminal Justice System.
