Module 7 Thread 1 (of 3) Feminization of Poverty

There is a very interesting discussion about the Feminization of Poverty in your Schaefer text. It is interesting to note that conflict theorists place the blame on sex discrimination and sexual harassment.  But I wonder, from the functionalist view, could the reason lie with personal decisions? What are your thoughts on the causes of the Feminization of Poverty? What are your thoughts on solutions? You may also wish to develop the conversation with the recent #MeToo movement.   Be sure to cite course materials and any other relevant outside scholarly sources in your initial response.
