GM 542 Week 4 Exam | Franklin Pierce University | Assignment Help

Students will work individually on this project

You must use either QM for Windows or Excel Data Analysis

The key skill that will emerge from this course is the ability to take and develop information through regression analysis. The chapters will provide the key information for the development of regression analysis.

I prefer you use Excel Data Analysis, regression as this is standard on most PCs so nearly always available.

The outcome for this assignment will be the development of the following analysis from a data set you have found.

The assignment will include:

1.      Opening paragraph explaining your raw data and reason for hypothesis.

2.      Bivariate and Multiple regression analysis.

3.      Evaluation using the F and t statistics

4.      Scattergram analysis

5.      Residual chart analysis

6.      Discussion and analysis of the slope, y intercept, and regression equation.

7.      Discussion of your hypothesis and conclusions based on your analysis.

Regarding a location for a solid data set for the regression project. You can find these data sets at work, in books, or on the internet. One place to check might be the bureau of labor statistics (http://stats.bls.gov (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.) to find all kinds of demographic and economic statistics.

For this part of the assignment drop a word file, not later than 11:59P on Sun 9/24/16 with a few sentences on what your project will encompass, including where you will find the data, and what the independent and dependent variables will be

Professor,

Thank you for your help in class on Thursday.  For my final project, I will do it on incarceration rates in the US.  I will find the data in these sites that I have already researched:

http://www.sentencingproject.org/the-facts/#detail?state1Option=Massachusetts&state2Option=New%20Hampshire
(incarceration rates: Y)

https://data.bls.gov/map/MapToolServlet?survey=la&map=state&seasonal=u
(Unemployment: X)

https://www.census.gov/library/publications/2017/demo/p60-259.html
(Income/ poverty: X)

https://www.ed.gov/news/press-releases/new-state-state-college-attainment-numbers-show-progress-toward-2020-goal
(College graduation rates: X) This one might be optional as I’m not confident it will apply.

https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oessrcst.htm
(Median Income: X)

As well, I was thinking of doing my data sets by year on a national average to predict future year incarceration rates.  I also was thinking about breaking it down further with a binary or dummy variable where I can compare races: White, Black, Hispanic, Asian.

Let me know what you think professor.  Thank you for your help and have a good day!
