Introduce yourself to the members of the course.

2.      Review your personalized results and the resources provided.

3.      Return to this course discussion.

4.      Using the results, answer: "What is your plan to be successful in the course?"

    Example Plan for Success:

I wasn’t surprised by high scores in "Persistence" and "Reason". I have a strong desire to finish my degree quickly and to stay in college. It’s not only important to me now but to my future goals.

I was surprised by the result of “Place” in my SmarterMeasure report. I didn’t realize I should schedule my study time like I would schedule my time to work. Multi-tasking may be slowing me down and decreasing the quality of my assignments.

Another area for improvement in the report was “Seeking Help”. When I reflect on my years in high school, I can see I wouldn’t seek help until I was already frustrated and had poor grades. I can see by the resources provided, GBC offers 24/7 tutoring and live tutoring. 

My Plan when I get home tonight:

1. Tell my family the table & laptop in the great-room is my designated study area. Try not to bother me when I am there.

2. Add study times on my calendar. Treat these like I would a job.  

3. Decide to put my phone away while I study or work on assignments.

4. Try live and online tutoring right when I get frustrated or to improve essays.

5. Ask more questions if I don’t understand earlier, instead of later.
