Analyse the comments provided by the viewers of two

MRKT 19038.       Assessment 2 Submission (ELI)

Task Description

Your task in this assessment is to analyse the comments provided by the viewers of two YouTube videos and draw inferences accordingly. You will be provided the links for the two YouTube videos in Week 6.

Specifically, for each video, you will:

  • Prepare themes and sub-themes from the comments provided by the viewers of the video.
  • Draw a diagram or concept map to explain how the themes (including its sub-themes) are connected.
  • Develop hypotheses based on the diagram or concept map.

In addition to the afore-mentioned analysis on the comments for each of the two videos, please also compare the analysis findings between them: are there similarities or differences in terms of the analysis findings, and what are the potential causes of the similarities or differences?

Question 10: Do I need to reference every representative quote I've used to support my developed theme or sub-theme? When I reference such a quote, do I just reference the corresponding YouTube video?

Answer: You need to reference every representative quote you've used to support your developed theme or sub-theme. When you reference such a quote, please just reference the corresponding YouTube video.

For example, if you have developed 2 themes and 4 sub-themes based on the comments for Video 1, and you have supported those 2 themes and 4 sub-themes with 12 representative quotes, you need to reference all 12 representative quotes. Since all these 12 quotes should be the salient or interesting parts of comments on Video 1's YouTube page, you should provide in-text referencing for all 12 quotes (i.e., 12 in-text references to the YouTube Video 1) and provide one reference on the reference list (i.e., 1 reference to the YouTube Video 1 on the reference list). You can learn how to reference YouTube videos, from page 77 of
https://sportal.cqu.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0017/107432/ALC-APA-Referencing-Guide-2020.pdf.

Question 11: Regarding the "citing at least 10 references" requirement, can my 10 references all from the comments of the YouTube videos? Can some of my references be used to reinforce why I think certain comments are relevant?
Answer: As all of your representative quotes used in your analysis of Video 1 comments should be based on 1 reference (i.e., the YouTube Video 1), and all of your representative quotes used in your analysis of Video 2 comments should be based on 1 reference (i.e., the YouTube Video 2), you still need to cite at least 8 other references in your Assessment 2 (in addition to citing the YouTube Video 1 and the YouTube Video 2). Those references can be used to reinforce why you think certain comments are relevant, or be used to support any parts of the argument or analysis in your assessment.

Question 12: Are the quotes from the YouTube comments considered to be a part of the word count?
Answer: Yes. Only the reference list is excluded from the word count. Anything else in your Assessment 2 file is included in the word count.

Question 13: For this assessment, are we limited to themes and sub-themes or can we do themes, then sub-themes, and then make sub-sub-themes under sub-themes?
Answer: Based on the requirements of this assessment, please develop themes and sub-themes, and there is no need to develop sub-sub-themes under sub-themes.
