Written Assignment: Culmination Rough Draft

In Units #2 and #3, you learned about analyzing causes and effects, along with another paper over comparing and contrasting. In Unit #4, you analyzed a film, and in Unit #5 you will be analyzing poetry.

For your final paper, you will expand upon YOUR writing skills, all while adding credible research. Select a topic, identify your selected approach, and discuss why you decided upon that approach.

Again, this paper should explore new concepts by expanding upon your choice of writing approaches/styles:

·         causes and effect essay

·         compare and contrast essay

·         film critique

·         poetry analysis 

Please note:  If you do choose poetry analysis, you may include other writers or cultures contained in your Word document handout. However, you may not include writers who are not included in the handout without permission from your instructor. 

For this week’s assignment (Unit 5), you will submit a rough draft of your paper. 

Next week (Unit 6), you will submit your rough draft for peer reviewandto the OTC. 

Requirements:

·         Prepare a quality, substantive paper that addresses the objectives of the assignment and the expectations set forth in the grading rubric.

·         A minimum of 1,000 words excluding the title page and references is required.

·         Use APA style: Refer to APA Resources and the Online Tutoring Center resources in Academic Resources (see SC College Resources Links) for guidance on writing style and page and citation formatting.

·         A minimum of 6 sources of credible evidence, found through the Deets Library, in addition to course resources that have been published within the past 5 years is required.
