Let's talk about "Nutrition and Your Health".  Besides the assigned text (section 14.6) you should review other documents to support this discussion.  For example, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans make a nice complement to this section of the textbook (hint, this is probably the easiest place to find a correct answer). 

Name one food (group/category) or nutrient that should be reduced in the typical American diet and one food (group/category) or nutrient that should be increased by most Americans in their diets. What are the health risks or concerns with consuming too much of the nutrient or food you selected for reducing? What are the health risks or concerns with consuming too little of the nutrient or food you selected for increasing?

Now think about your own diet.  Are you currently in need of reducing this food (group/category) or nutrient in your diet? What about the food or nutrient that you suggested should be increased (do you think you need to increase this in your diet)?
