HR
is rushing to the big data world as fast, or almost as fast, as other
disciplines, including business, intelligence, finance, accounting, and
customer relationship management. Among the greater challenges is getting every
area of the organization to share data that in the past might not have been
seen as useful or appropriate to the field and function of human resources. As
access to vast amounts of data is gained, unprecedented insights into client
behavior and employee performance are seen. However, there will also be
instances in some organizations where silos among functions will prevent data
integration.
From
your experiences, address the following:
·
What data from the functional areas mentioned offer value to HR
decision making?
·
What can HR professionals do to engage peer members of other
managerial disciplines to attain access to needed information?
